Cam you share a screenshot? I've heard of a fake Seasalt website before. What is the From address on the email?

PaintDecisions · 18/04/2025 22:11

What's the Web page you're being directed to?

Justmuddlingalong · 18/04/2025 22:11

I saw one on Facebook. It had double t at the end instead of just one.

EffortlesslyInelegant · 18/04/2025 22:17

Was it a Facebook ad? If so then yes, scam. I've just had a quick look at the real website and whilst there is a sale it's definitely not a £12 one.

HibbyW · 18/04/2025 22:19

Oh, yes. This is a scam. Try going to the seasalt page via Google. There's a sale on the real page, but the prices are more like £30-60, rather than the £12 show on the scam page. The scam is a very good fake! I clicked on it from an Instagram ad earlier today.

There was a very similar Seasalt scam several months ago.
The OP at the time clicked on a link via Facebook.

This sounds very similar.

ChickenGotLegs · 18/04/2025 22:40

You should never click links from emails if they seem too good to be true, always open the site yourself via Google or whatever you use.

Notaflippinclue · 18/04/2025 22:41

Of course it’s a scam come on

Ragruggers · 18/04/2025 22:46

Thank you for your replies.Nationwide picked the scam up and blocked the payment thankfully.I receive Seasalt emails all the time so I didn’t look properly that this was fake. Will contact Nationwide in the am but nothing has come out of my account yet so praying all is well.

Yes I've read threads on MN before about this scam.
That's good if you haven't lost any money OP.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 18/04/2025 23:34

I almost fell for the last sea salt ad on FB, so I’m glad your bank spotted it.

Wheelz46 · 19/04/2025 00:08

I work in fraud and have seen this scam.

We always advise, never click on any links you have been sent or click on any advertisement links through any social media channels, if it's too good to be true, it usually is.

Always go directly to the companies website through your search engine.

Yes I think there's been a thread about this before?

I love nationwide

Seasalt have an EBay store where items can be purchased for as little as £2.50. Socks and earrings for less than a fiver, tunics from about £7 and dresses from £8.80. Code SEAWEAR20 takes a further 20% off and most items are free postage.
