Bonne Maman chocolate mousse: don't bother

I treated myself to two adorable little pots of Bonne Maman chocolate mousse. I usually buy Rolo desserts but there were none left so I threw caution to the wind.

What an utter let down. Claggy, weirdly tasteless and not in any worth the two hundred calories. Barely chocolatey at all!

Rolo desserts on the other hand are rich, unctuous, chocolatey and caramelly, and contain 100 calories. And they're half the blimmin price!

Suit yourself. I really enjoy the Bonne Maman ones and find the Rolo things disgustingly sickly.

Oh I really liked the one I had from a French supermarket, I thought it was bonne maman, but maybe it wasn't. It didn't have anything I wouldn't put in a chocolate mousse myself, just chocolate, eggs, sugar, butter I think. It was really good.

Are you mad?! The Bonne Maman chocolate desserts are the very best! I love the Rolo ones too (any chocolate UPF pudding, in fact) but Bonne Maman is amazing.

My kids love them. Much less full of shit than most mousses.

Highly recommend Tesco Finest Belgian Chocolate mousse instead. I've not found a better supermarket one.

The Tesco one does sound scrummy but it has 23 grams of sugar per pot (over 5 level teaspoons).

I adore the dark chocolate ones with a bit of squirty cream on top. 🥰

But it’s not as if you’d eat them everyday.
