Has anyone got a Tempur mattress?

I am looking for a really firm and cool mattress. I've just been to see this one and think I like it, but would like to hear from anyone who has one.

Is it really comfy? Does it last well? Any experiences appreciated!

I don't but I'm interested to see the recommendations from others as we are thinking of ordering a new bed soon and liked the polar gel ones that we saw in Dreams but if there's a better option I would consider it.

I have one. Have had it for about 5 years now. Very pleased with it. It has kept its shape and I don’t find it too warm. Mine is a super king and it is heavy to move. I would recommend it.

I have had one for about 10 years and not once have I regretted the purchase. When I am travelling I do end up missing my mattress.
I can't remember the exact name of the model, but it was the "hardest" and the "thickest", if that makes sense.

I have had one for the past 7 years. Very comfortable but I get far too hot in it. I use a 4.5 tog quilt all year with the window open and I still struggle. Feel like I have to keep it because it cost a bloody fortune.

I don't have one of the new cooling ones though.

Absolutely love mine. Got ‘free’ Tempur pillows with it and they are the best pillows ever.

mondaytosunday · 16/04/2025 13:20

Yes. Love it. Only downside is the kids couldn’t jump on it (no ‘spring’).

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 16/04/2025 15:50

Kids not being able to jump is PLUS. in my world!

I am caught between the very firm Tempur and a sprung mattress with wool.

I bought a tempur mattress almost four years ago and it was the worst mistake I have ever made. I tried one in Dreams, and the display bed felt very soft. But the mattress I’ve got is the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept on. It was like a rock for the first two years, to the point where I had to get the thickest topper I could find to make it more bearable. I’m sure it played a part in the damage that I did to my back a few months later. I’ve turned it religiously but it’s now got a huge dip in the middle. When I bought it, I had already exchanged another rock hard but comparatively cheap mattress under the Dreams guarantee, and so couldn’t return this one. I’ve been trying to tell myself that I can’t justify buying a new mattress having spent £1500 on this one, but I think I have to just write it off as a disaster and cut my losses. I would urge anyone to be very very careful before spending that much on a mattress.

I should add that I don’t find it cool at all - for the first time since I was six, I’ve not needed to use an electric blanket.

Hi @Growlybear83 thanks. I actually want a very firm mattress - my current Emma one is marketed as firm but is like a pudding and I hate it.
