Hello can anyone recommend a very comfortable mattress/bed but for a small room please.

How small is the room? One like this might suit, since it's got storage underneath Julian Bowen Maisie Captains Bed Cabin Bed at Mattressman

@xmasdealhunter that looks good thank you, I don't suppose you know if it's comfortable? I'm also looking at mid sleeper beds

It doesn't come with the mattress (my DD has this one Dunelm Rolled Memory Foam Open Coil Mattress | Dunelm and finds it v comfortable), but the bed itself is a comfortable width and length- I've slept on it a few times and had a good nights sleep. It looks grown up enough that it should last a good few years, especially since it's in the neural white.

Personally I'd steer clear of a mid/high sleeper, the kids tend to grow out of them very quickly and by the time they are 14ish don't want a high bed anymore because they become more of a faff than they are worth. They are also a nightmare to change the sheets!

i had a recommendation for Get laid beds as I needed a small double. Excellent customer service and high quality
for mattresses You can’t beat Sealy imo
perhaps look for slim frame single beds as it’s the frames which take up the small room

Floating bed is a term to search for too

@uncomfortablydumb60 thanks, I think her current frame is less wide but an IKEA single mattress doesn't fit on it
