The Piano - what Britpop band?

For anyone who watched the Piano tonight - the ginger guy called Chris who used to be in a ‘sort-of Britpop’ band, does anyone know the name of the band? I recognised the photo of them but can’t work out who they are!

I don't know that, but thought his song was wonderful. Great voice, beautiful music and excellent lyrics.

That looks like Dodgy I think

I didn't watch tonight, I just went withy 90s gut instinct

Definetly not Dodgy, there was only 3 of them and singer was called Nigel I think

Not seen the show but from the photo it looks like Cast.

Is it Eve 6? Their lead singer definitely had hair like that, at least briefly. They were American though, but right sort of era.

Chris Caines from Coasts?

Not Toploader or Cast, their singers aren’t called Chris. checked out Coasts but not them.

The photo has the vibe of opening the NME in the late 90s and seeing new up and coming indie band, but I’ve got a feeling they didn’t quite make it big.

So we need lesser known indie bands of the 90s…..I’ve checked out Geneva, Candyskins, the Gyres, Pecadillos amongst others and read various lists of Britpop bands, no joy yet. Someone must know 😀

They do look really familiar though. I tried looking up the image on Google but the first result it gave me Andy and the Odd Socks 😂

The song he performed on the show is on YouTube if you want to listen to it again. Chris Spring - Limitations. Maybe knowing his last name will help you find out what band he was in OP? I had a quick google but couldn’t find anything though, other than he seems to make Christian music now.

Found it but not a band I remember or recognise. It’s The Chives

I was surprised there was no thread on The Piano itself . It's such a lovely show.

The Internet says Sleeper was the band that Chris Springs who sang Limitations on The Piano, was in.
