I'm going on holiday soon . I feel like an excited child . And feel excited and silly inside 🤣.

Then the adult in me comes back and starts shitting myself.

60 days to go counting down how many sleeps with the kids 🤣

As its just 5 nights will 7 shorts 7 tops , 1 pair of summer shoes. 2 swim shorts be ok for the kids . Obviously underwear /socks. Would they need evening wear as well ? We are staying on the resort all inclusive which is buttet type.

Where are you going? Holidays are always something to look forward to imho!

Hollyaddy · 12/04/2025 19:12

For me 50 percent of the excitement of the holiday is the looking forward to it 😀

TheBirdintheCave · 12/04/2025 19:15

Sounds like plenty of clothes to me! I think it’s up to you whether they should have an extra change of clothes for dinner. How fancy is the restaurant?

75 days until I’m watching the sun set on Santorini 😍

Crunchymum · 12/04/2025 19:23

Another thread, another name change. Sigh.

I also thought you weren't taking the kids out of school?

ClassicStripe · 12/04/2025 19:41

They will need an outfit for each evening as well.

I have no idea what the restaurant is like. We are,all inclusive and its buffet style so im thinking not posh ? Probably elnt hurt to add a few nicer bits.

I personally take an outfit for each evening and then wear the same few tops/shorts/sun dresses during the days over swimwear.

I like to shower and change before the evening meal/entertainment and put on a new outfit.

Yeah that's probably the best thing to do. I wasn't sure since most of the time the kids will be in their swimming stuff. Maybe less day time stuff but more evening wear instead

Definitely feels that way. I'm more excited than the kids but probably feels a life time away for them. Probably shit myself when it comes to flying.

Edited

You thought wrong
I change name so much that I loose track of what they are. It was no effect on anyone though so its fine

Why are you shitting yourself about it?

socks1107 · 12/04/2025 20:50

Yes be excited! I’ve already made a packing list for my July city break and a travel outfit 😊. Best bit is the build up

I would just dress them in their swimming stuff for the day and shower them before you go to dinner. Then your clothes list is more than enough👍

Ah not much really. I have never been abroad as an adult so not 100% on what I'm doing . And bit scared of the actual flying . Not enough not to go though

I should do the same really so I know what I have already and what I need. I already practiced packing to see how much I can fit in 🤣

Oh you will be fine. Honestly.

I love doing research on where to stay and once it is booked I get very excited about it ,then I enjoy the journey. I enjoy the holiday but the build up is almost as good I reckon.

Katieweasel · 12/04/2025 21:20

When DS was small he would have a clean outfit for the evening and then wear the same the next day at breakfast and the T-shirt with his swim shorts throughout the day.

SpringIsSpringing25 · 12/04/2025 21:24

It's lovely to read a post where someone is happy and excited for a change.

Depending on how old how messy the kids are, I would also shower them before the dinner and put them in top so can wear the next day if I have those sorts of clothes.

Are there any washing machines at the property? That makes a huge difference as to what you need to pack as well.. not that you want to be doing loads of washing but just knowing the facilities are there makes a big difference.

Where are you going?

I definitely won't be doing washing 🤣. Clothes wise they can be a bit messy sometimes. But not overly. Going to spsin.

Oooo where in Spain? I'm heading over on Wednesday for 5 days with DD. I have the opposite problem, we only have the easyjet sized rucksacks because I wasn't prepared to pay £100 for a case. Fortunately we're staying with a friend and right across the road from a supermarket!

I'm going to Almeria. Oh we are flying with ryan air . Only taking the 20cm×25×40cm we have one each so we are not paying for luggage either. Can get quite a bit in the cases really.
