What legal reasons are there for not showing this man’s picture in the media? [TW mention of CSA]

The Mail won’t show his photo for legal reasons but the Mirror do. Can anyone explain why?

Don't know why the Mail hesitated. I'd say GD is a sufficiently well-known figure to the genpub that there's need need for such overkill.

But bloody hell, Graeme Dott! Shocked by this.

I've just clicked on the Mirror link and they haven't pictured him. I assume they've had to update their article and take it out but forgot to update the linked one.

I wondered this myself on the lunchtime news. I recognised the name but had to google him to see who he was. Turns out I was picturing totally the wrong snooker player (whose name I’ve forgotten)

Oh yes it’s gone now. I would understand if he wasn’t named, but I don’t understand the name but no picture.

It may just be that they don't have a royalty free image they can use?

Maybe they are concerned it would identify victims ?
