Have attached a pic so hopefully it will show shortly! I’ve been told he’s 1900s but he looks more modern to me

Reckon 1960s or 70s. That's not an really old bear, they look very different.

Needmorelego · 07/04/2025 22:37

I'd say 70s or 80s.
Definitely not as old as 1900s.

I'd agree with 1970s. My best friend had one very similar.

And how about this one? I think this is older

I’d agree - I think 70s too for the original one

1970s at the oldest. Both quite grotty!

I am no expert, but I thought earlier bears had jointed shoulders/hips and were much firmer.
To me they look like 1970s bears from my childhood.

OP look for labels, they are usually key when it comes to price.

I agree with all of this.

My Mum still has her Dads teddy from 1907 (although very battered and frequently mended so that it has not monetary value!!). It has very long legs and arms. Both are jointed at shoulder and hip. It also has quite a long nose compared to more modern bears. It is hard - stuffed with sawdust or similar. And the fur is quite rough - not sure what it is made of though not nylon/man made fibre I don't think.
