Personal magic genie, what do you want?

Obvnotthegolden · 07/04/2025 16:56

Apart from world peace and prosperity for all, obviously.
If you had a magic genie that could only help you personally, what three wishes would you want?

Mine are all boring things really:
Money and more time to travel
Excellent health to enjoy life
Confidence of when I was in my twenties. I don't want to go back and be 20 again but I wish I had that confidence and spirit!

I want to be able to eat unlimited calories and maintain a great figure/health

Money

Good health, if I can for my family too

That's about it. I feel the above would cover everything else.

FiveTreeHill · 07/04/2025 17:16

Actually if I'm totally honest I'd wish to not be autistic but that might be controversial

Timeforabiscuit · 07/04/2025 17:18

Understand how the heck dating works in your mid forties!

There appears to be apps and photos and profiles involved, which I fear look more like a job application process for roles I'm not sure I'm interested in!

Meeting · 07/04/2025 17:19

A place to get some decent maternity clothes would be a dream at the minute to be honest.

ohnowwhatcanitbe · 07/04/2025 17:20

I'd quite like to win several million on the lottery.

To retire and be able to spend time doing what I enjoy instead of sitting in an office.

Improved health, and maybe knock 10 years or so off mine and DH's ages.

ItsCalledAConversation · 07/04/2025 17:21

Right now I’d like to be transported to a warm place with good wine, good food, some kind of wellness programme and nobody else. Nobody. Oh and my body back that I had when I was 28.

Tarkan · 07/04/2025 17:26

My first one would have to be good health for me. Between multiple chronic health conditions which have led to me gaining a lot of weight, perimenopause causing many issues including awful anxiety and paranoia at the moment, as well as other mental health issues I’m just falling apart and I can’t remember what it’s like to not be in pain.

I would also want good health for my family which I think would count as a second one.

Third one would definitely be enough money for DH to retire nice and early and for us to travel the world together and have a nice house. It doesn’t have to be millions and millions, just enough for us to have a comfortable life and take off whenever we fancy it.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 07/04/2025 17:26

Calorie free chocolate
A personal chauffeur
Someone to tow Australia a few hours north (my DD lives there and I love visiting but the flights are just SO LONG). Actually, no, I'll just wish for Business Class flights forever.

Sorry. Lowered the tone there a bit.

Arlanymor · 07/04/2025 17:28

Enough money to not have to work
Really good health into my dotage
A solid relationship with a not-wanker

AcrossthePond55 · 07/04/2025 17:42

A house in Canada I could live in until Jan 2029.

Widowerwouldyou · 07/04/2025 17:47

Really interesting thread - thanks OP!
I am so happy at the moment -lots of awful
stuff before, but (just) retired, great social life, active, healthy, grown kids ok right now, enough money and living my best life, just met a lovely man - so seems the genie has bc already delivered.
Only thing I’d ask now is another 10 years of the same 😀

Passtheduchess · 07/04/2025 17:53

Enough money for a house of my own and a monthly income to not have to work if I don't want to.
To remain as healthy as I am now into old age.
A man who is loving, my best friend and emotionally intelligent enough to work as an equal team on our relationship.

😘 I'm packing as I type. 🤣

Timeforatincture · 07/04/2025 18:09

To find the source of, and eliminate, the strange smell in the conservatory.

To get some other bugger to do the gardening.

To have M&S reopen in our high street.

ThatNaiceMember · 07/04/2025 18:11

Perfect health for me and my loved ones and perfect teeth 😁

DrummingMousWife · 07/04/2025 18:12

I want all the wars in the world to stop and I want my BIL to become a nice person ….

fleetoriginal · 07/04/2025 19:13

Good health for all my family and friends (yes, also the entire world but them first)

2 million in the bank - enough to clear the mortgage, help out parents, go on a few lovely holidays but not enough that I would stop work and become a stuck up slob.

The ability to freeze time (Bernard’s Watch style) so I can have more ‘enjoy the moment’ thoughts and have unlimited time to keep the house together/clean/do all the mundane jobs and still have time to catch up on sleep - bliss!

FedUpandEatingChocolate · 07/04/2025 19:24

A house that cleans and tidies itself
No mortgage
No health worries

ohyesido · 07/04/2025 19:38

A house with a garden, preferably one that overlooks the park and has a window seat thanks

Moier · 07/04/2025 19:53

I have money.
Lots of it.. but I'd give it all up to not be severely disabled.. physically and mentally.
To have my legs working properly.
To have my bowels back.
To have my pelvis put back together .
To have a full vagina and normal bladder.
To get rid of pins and rods and metal in my body .
To still not be in therapy 40 years after l got thrown under a moving bus .
So my magic Geanie .. just give me back my health and take my 3 million in exchange

AlleyRose · 07/04/2025 20:21

I’d like my DD to be happy.
