What are you paying for heating oil?

I'm feeling smug because I got the winter top up for our tank almost right - the gauge shows we've got about a month in reserve and we're not using CH anymore, so fuelling hot water only.

I reckon we'll get to the start of May on this, then I'll probably fill to capacity and top up any wee bits in October.

We're in the west of Scotland and the tracker currently says £0.51.39 per litre - I reckon that might drop again in May.

How are things where you are?

We are in Devon. Looks like current price today is 56.29p per litre if we were to buy 500l which is what we normally do.

Last ordered 500l probably 6 weeks ago maybe and haven’t used much of it. Our water runs off solar, so that 500l will easily last us til probably December. 5 bedroom old detached farmhouse but we don’t keep it warm.

Dh is annoyed as he wants to replace the oil tank, but doesn’t want to have to siphon out all the oil so it’s gonna have to wait til next winter.

Thanks @mindutopia - may I ask more about how you run your HW off solar? Was it very expensive / complicated?

We're thinking about installing PV panels and trying to cost things up.
