Where can we go disco dancing like at a wedding?

DH and I love a dance in the kitchen - so much that he had apologised to the neighbours for it at our wedding 😂 I would love to take him out dancing but not sure where - never been clubbing as had DD young, so do not know sure if clubs are for kids and playing music we are not into.

Where could two middle aged snakehips go on a Sat night?

I have no clue but I'm hoping that when I go on holiday they have Silent Disco so I can dance like no one is watching me throw some shapes

You'd have to say roughly what area you're in?

Theredjellybean · 04/04/2025 21:47

There is a over 30's clubbing thing ...it starts late afternoon and everyone home by 10 pm...it's all over UK in major cities, sorry I can't recall exact name ..Google it...it looks fun

BeCleverSquid · 04/04/2025 21:47

Have a look for afternoon disco's in your area, these are normally for over 30s aswell, I've been to a few and they are great fun and you can be home by 10pm

My local town does daytime clubbing, all disco / pop. Maybe check out a local Facebook group

MissSookieStackhouse · 04/04/2025 21:50

Google ‘Day Fever’ - daytime discos run by actress Vicky McClure and her husband. Look out for one coming to a city near you soon hopefully. Brilliant fun!

FrangipaniBlue · 04/04/2025 22:11

Google your local Northern Soul events !

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 04/04/2025 22:12

I went to an afternoon club last week - loads of fun. But if food after and home by 9.30

Jo Whiley's 90s Anthems nights if you're of a certain age.

Lots of hotels round us have dinner and disco evenings. Usually 3 course meal and a tribute band. DH is also the first one up dancing!

EmeraldRoulette · 04/04/2025 22:23

as well as the suggestions here, try your local pubs

The ones round here don't really have a social media presence, but they do the kind of evening you're looking for.

I went to Disco Days in Edinburgh recently, was like being 23 again 😂

LunaNorth · 04/04/2025 22:28

My friends and I have some great times at Silent Discos in Amazing Places. Also School Disco events. We dance our hearts out.

Catsonskis · 04/04/2025 22:33

Flares (if it’s still going) or pop world are chain clubs that play what I call wedding disco music. Usually a mix of ages and drunkenness in there. But you can be sure of Gimmie gimmie gimmie followed by back street boys then c’est la vie!

Echobelly · 04/04/2025 22:50

There's quite a lot of daytime dance parties for parents with young kids now, worth looking to see if there's one near you.

LuckyCharmz · 04/04/2025 22:51

My dh and I do Ceroc/ modern jive. They hold loads of events at weekends, great music.

Trovindia · 04/04/2025 22:54

A friend of mine does DJ nights where the people who go choose the tunes - she has vinyl you can flick though and choose songs from the 70s 80s and 90s. She plays in London venues and to the west of London so if that's your area I can share more details.

Maddy70 · 04/04/2025 22:58

Look at working men's clubs etc. Loads around

Willyoushutthefrontdoor · 04/04/2025 23:00

We went to a vicky mclure one in Manchester when we were there for the weekend with mates who live there. Had a great laugh. Me and some girls have booked one...same thing...in our home town end of April...March was sold out! Day time drinking is the best!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 04/04/2025 23:01

As others have said, hotel events nights are often dinner and discos. But also check out the nightclubs. One in my town was always 80s night on a Saturday, so had a proper disco feel.
