Glasses leaving marks on my nose

I was recently told I need to wear glasses for reading. I picked out a pair that are very lightweight with nose pads, but they leave marks on my nose that remain for hours. Is this normal? I went back to the opticians and they adjusted them, but it made no difference. Would plastic framed glasses be better? I did go down a rabbit hole the other day looking at weighted boots for glasses because I really like my glasses just not the long lasting marks.

I’ve got reading glasses that don’t have the nose pads….i still get marks on my nose that last a few hours. I suppose it’s always going to happen and we will notice more as we don’t wear them all the time.

I only ever get marks on my nose if I wear glasses with pads. My plastic frames leave no marks at all.

Yes you will get marks better to get plastic frames that don't have pads

I have the same problem with sunglasses. Can’t wear them. Summer is bit of a nightmare. I think I’ve tried all of them - pads, no pads, small, large, lightweight… literally all of them leave red marks on both side of my nose after just seconds. I can’t even try them on in a shop - I get the marks instantly and they stay forever! I wish I had a solution!

I hate glasses with nose pads and only have pairs with plastic frames. Unfortunately I still get nose marks from all of them.

I think for some of us, it's just our faces.

I have plastic frames and they still leave marks, but maybe not so bad. I have been wearing glasses for years, mind you, and don’t really notice marks at all most days.

Worn glasses all my life, completely normal with pads or plastic frames, maybe a little less with plastic. You get used to it.

I don't get marks with plastic frames. They have quite a broad nose bridge.

Nose pads always left marks when I wore them. I switched to plastic frames, which I find are much better.

You may find these helpful. Thhey just slip over the existing nosepad.

I get this on all my glasses . Think it is because the skin on the bridge of your nose is so thin . I have a concealer pen that I keep in my bag to just put on the mark .
