How can I suddenly become more interesting?

Sorry if this is the wrong board, I'm not sure where else to put it.
I've been kindly invited to stay (with my dh) with my dh's family.
The thing is, his sister in law is nice, but a real force of nature. She does so many things. In contrast I'm feeling really flat at the moment and feel boring and dull. So much so, that I don't want to go, in my heart of hearts. We will go, but I wish I could feel happier about it.

Why is your life dull and boring? What’s stopping you from doing things?

Balloonney · 01/04/2025 08:26

Don't feel you need to be more interesting for others, but if you're feeling flat then perhaps it's a kick start to re-engage with something you're interested in.

You can’t.

But you can over time, if you wanted to.

Just take an interest in SIL and ask her questions about what she does. Most people love talking about themselves, so that will keep her happy.

Top tip - don't compare yourself to others.

Be happy with who you are

@Quietsheep has it nailed - people that do things are very pleased to tell you about it. I can bore even the most interested gym goer about the gym given the right questions.
just be interested in other people and confident in yourself.
