What's your best April Fool joke?

Mine was putting a parking ticket that I'd printed off the interwebs onto a colleague's car who was parked perfectly legally. If he'd opened it he would have seen it said April Fool but instead he marched around his car looking at the parking signs furiously. It was funny to watch and once he realised he thought it was funny too.

Scraped the cream out of a slice of jam & cream Victoria sponge and put white toothpaste in it instead.
Yhe recipient was not amused, but I was because he was one of those people who liked to dish it out but can’t take it, so it was totally worth it 😊

When I was about 13 I bought an envelope from a joke shop which said something along the lines of “pregnancy test results inside” and posted it to myself.
My mum went ballistic. When she made me open it in front of her, inside was a note that said April Fools.

I mean AS IF that’s how you receive pregnancy test results, even in the early 90’s.

My mum would have been apoplectic worrying about what the post man would think 😆

When I was a child, I told my little sis that it was snowing. She squealed, jumped out of bed and looked out of the window.

It wasn't snowing, she was furious and I couldn't stop laughing!

No, not particularly funny, but we're 53 and 51 now and we still try and beat each other to be first in the April Fool's Day 'it's snowing' text! (BTW, I've got in first this year, so I win!)

My mum once gave me those polystyrene packing chips in a bowl and said I could have crisps for breakfast.

My aunty put her BIL car for sale in the local car rag (obviously the days before internet). He got calls all day (days of landlines and no caller ID etc). He was furious ... and I don't think she really liked him very much, but we all found it quite funny

A couple of years ago, I went into the kitchen to change the calendar (one of those flip over picture ones) and loudly announced to DH that 'they've left the April page out of the calendar'.

He fell for it 😃

I worked in a nursery. There were two of us working that day and one child.

I happily took the child off to change his nappy, then friend took him for a nap. She came out of the room to find me with nappy in hand happily tucking into its contents! I remarked that I didn't know what he'd been eating but his poo tasted great!

Her face!!!!! She twigged after a second but that second was hilarious. I still laugh when I think about it and it was nearly ten years ago!!!!

(I'd loaded a clean nappy with Nutella, just in case anyone is wondering!)

Pandimoanymum · 01/04/2025 10:55

Omg, the nappy one is great! I'm definitely stealing that one, I have a niece & nephew in nappies, and I'm seeing them both today- so I'm sure I can get two sets of parents with this one.

@Tbrh
My dad put a home-made FOR SALE board outside his mate's house, and he got so many enquiries he sold it!

A few years ago I took a bunch of pictures of my friends when we went to a bar late March and before sending them pictures I did facial swaps on some of them and sent those edited pictures along with the normal ones, it was exactly on the 1st of April. Nothing too fancy, just a simple edit, beginner level, stuff like that, yet one of my friends didn't notice this and posted an edited picture where her husband's face was swapped with another friend's 😅No hard feelings, everyone just laughed about it and she never deleted the picture, it's still on her page!
(I sent an unedited version later as well, of course)
