WWYD? Illness started yesterday and have felt progressively worse and woken up now with a temperature. I’ve a private consultant appointment to check some moles that I’ve waited 6 weeks for.

Will they let me rearrange it on the day? I don’t want to lose £200 and I’m anxious about my moles so really don’t want to wait another six weeks. I’ve been to my GP who dismissed me (he’s got a reputation and have had lots of friends who have had him miss stuff).

So what would you do? I obviously don’t want to spread an illness to people, but the selfish part of me wants to fill up on drugs and go get checked.

Ring the hospital and rearrange - every other patient and staff member doesn’t want your illness!!

Neither does the consultant who’ll be up close and then can’t see all the other patients who are as anxious as you.

Having spent the last week unable to get out of bed with COVID, which I probably caught from one of the selfish people at my physiotherapy class three days earlier who was clearly unwell, I would be beyond furious if someone turned up for an appointment with me who was ill with potential covid symptoms. I’m sure they will let you rearrange your appointment without penalty if you explain that you are unwell and don’t want to risk infecting your consultant and potentially many other people.

If you can dose yourself up I’d probably go. But if your too ill rearrange it.
