Got a new neighbour a year ago and over this time he has inserted himself into my life/business in various ways. I live alone.
An example would be say a family member showed up to my flat and knocked on my front door neighbour would come out and ask who they were and why they were there etc
One time my bin didn't need to be emptied so I didn't leave it out, got a knock on my door to tell me I was selfish and I should be leaving my bins out and then went on to say in fact we should be sharing the job of leaving them out and taking them back in (we each have our own bins so no idea why he thinks we should be taking it in turns to take them out) then the next time it was due out I took it out, I assume to be petty or to make a point he waited until after midnight then dragged it back in so it didn't get emptied..
I live a two minute walk from a few shops and sometimes if I need something that I forgot to pick up from town I will take a walk to the shop, it's open until midnight so I have been known to nip at 10pm, One day heard voices outside my front door and it was my neighbour having a conversation with my brother, I head the end of the conversation where neighbour was telling my brother that a few times a week I go out late at night and stay out overnight (I don't)
Strangest one was me sat in my sisters car on my driveway having a conversation about how best to help another family member who is having a hard time atm and neighbour just walked up to the car, stuck his head through the window and said 'oh he can stay with me on my sofa'
I have loads of examples but you get the idea..
after a year of similar things I just lost it at him and told him to back off, leave me alone and stay out of my business and stop getting involved in my life, I called him a moron and closed the door on him.
now have everyone saying he is just being neighbourly and I overreacted so now wondering if i did?
