One month family holiday in August - where?

Looking for recommendations on where to travel in August.

We have 3 DC who will be 11, 8 & 3. I have a work sabbatical coming up & I want to make the most of it by travelling.

I’d love to do something like New Zealand & Australia but the school holidays dictate that the only time we can get a whole month off is August & I don’t think that’s a great time of the year to visit there.

Singapore, Indonesia and potentially Malaysia? August is one of the best times to visit.

Australia East Coast from Brisbane to Cairns and/or Darwin and Uluru are perfect in August.

Canada. 25-30 degree weather - amazing outdoors - swim in lakes, pools, mountains, natural
parks, clean and safe cities, friendly people etc.

This is my preference! I love the idea x of whale watching in Vancouver Island. A real once in a lifetime experience. Then perhaps head to California. DH is unsure & still prefers the idea of NZ & Aus

I’ll look into each of those places, thanks for the recommendations. DH would prefer a NZ & Aus trip (& would feel comfortable driving there since I think it’s the same side of the road as us?). I’m concerned that it’ll be too cold & wet & so out of season that tours & other touristy things would be closed

Echo Canada. Would definitely include Banff and Lake Louise.
