Waterproof Headphones for Swimming

Ive recently restarted swimming and was thinking of buying some waterproof headphones to listen to audiobooks whilst I swam.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for under £50, please?

I’m also having a total brain fart and can’t get my head around how people use them when phones are not allowed poolside. Do they work from the lockers or do you have to store a bag poolside? It’s a reasonably naice gym so I don’t have many worries about items going missing or being damaged.

They work not by using Bluetooth, but as an mp3 player. So you upload the music/audiobook you wish to listen to, to them. The only ones I’m aware of that are good are those by aftershokz. However they are more expensive than your budget. uk.shokz.com/products/openswim-pro

I've got some Anker ones that work quite well - but they do need to be in good Bluetooth range or they can start cutting out.

Check where you buy them from - the prices vary gigantically. In the NL one site has the Finis for 71 euros, but they are 165 on Amazon

thanks all! The MP3 is a good shout, I hadn’t considered that option. I’ll have a look at the suggestions and links you’ve posted x

I bought some from Amazon for around £40 and they’re great- I use them as mp3 rather than Bluetooth. Really easy to set up too

Can I ask how / where you get MP3 format please? I get my audio books / music from Spotify but could do Audible if necessary

BartokRules · 29/03/2025 19:05

How do I get audible books onto an MP3 device though?

My dc did it for me with some app on the laptop, they put the playlist on there and it converted from Spotify. Sorry that’s not much use!
