A reminder that lilies are toxic to cats!

Just seen loads of bunches of flowers in the shop for Mother’s Day. Some people don’t know that lilies are fatal to cats. So be careful bringing these into the homes of people with cats!

They're fine if cat owners cut the long pollen-y bits out of the centre of the flowers once they're opened - it's only those central bits that are poisonous.

Ok scrap my answer, a quick Google tells me even the water can be toxic.
Now I'm wondering who told me to just cut the middles out and cat would be fine...? (She was)

My mum has always had lilies in the house with cats and had no issues, but I personally don’t want to take the risk.
Roses all the way in this house!
Just tricky when guests bring lilies and I have to quarantine them!
