I’m going to have to paint the whole ceiling, aren’t I?

We had a small leak in the ceiling which is all fixed but has left some brown marks on the ceiling. Paint has been bought but I really don’t want to paint the whole thing! If I patch it, will it be really obvious? Very lazy DIY-er here 😃

Probably. You might need to paint it with a stain block thing before too, to avoid the stain bleeding through the paint.

This is a good point! Will be heading back to b&q tomorrow 😩

depending on the colour of your ceiling, if you get a spray can of stain block it might blend in and save you from recoating the whole thing.

Is your ceiling white ? In my opinion yes you will

It depends on when the ceiling was last painted. Old white paint discolours slightly, but enough to notice against fresh.

Just don't look up. I have a pale green smoodge on one ceiling from a stretchy rubber toy my youngest threw up there when he was in year 5. The thought of repainting the whole ceiling was just too much so I left it. He's 17 next week!
