Younger boys school shoes

DD always kept a pair until she outgrew them, but DS, wow! He's ruined 2 pairs this school year already. I've always been quite fussy about having their feet measured, buying Clarks or Startright etc, but I wonder if I just buy some of those rubber toe type off the peg and hope they last a bit longer.

He's not wrecking them purposely, there just seems to be a lot of running, climbing etc.

Any advice on indestructible shoes, or is it just buy cheap and replace often?

DS used to have these. We called them ‘the indestructibles!’. He had a new pair whenever his feet grew for about 7 years! Not cheap but they were grown out of rather than worn out.

Yes - Clarks Apollo Step Kid. They have rubber around the toe and the heel. My son is in year 2 now and on his third pair, we just get the next size up as he grows out of them! In the bin last day of school in July and brand news ones in September. They are great, I hope they never go out of stock haha! Had to shop around a bit for them, got one pair of eBay, another from Clarks outlet online. He is a football, mud loving child and they definitely don't get looked after!! X

Next do school shoes half the price of Clarks but you can get the same widths

Clarks kids shoes have been shite poor quality and overpriced for years now.

We've got on really well with Term footwear, bought the same style several times in a row now. My son plays a lot of football and basketball during break/lunch/ASC and they've survived until being outgrown.
Maxx or Chivers are the sturdy ones: https://termfootwear.com/collections/boys-school-shoes

Or Geox, my friend with 3 sons swears by them.
