My daughter is 12 months old. Here's a list of our favourite books to read together. I remember asking for recommendations for books when DD was born (fyi I can't stand Julia Donaldson!). I think we found some real treasures so wanted to share.

What was/are your favourite books to read with you baby/toddler?

Welcome to your world
Blue sky morning
The depth of the lake and the height of the sky
Hairy Maclary series
A ticket to Kalamazoo
Jungle jamboree
I don't want to be small
The dot
The giant jumperee (the only Julia Donaldson book I can tolerate except maybe the grufallo on a good day)
The very hungry caterpillar
We're going on a bear hunt
Richard Jones books(the biggest breakfast, perdu, where have you been little cat?, little bear)
Thank you for the little things
Troll stroll
Guess how much I love you
A dress with pockets
Whatever next
The girl and the dinosaur
The tiger who came to tea
The thousand first words by Stephen cartwright
Everything by Jon Klassen (this is not my hat, I want my hat back, the three billy goats gruff etc)
Catherine Rayner books (five bears, smellie Louie, Molly, olive& Dexter)
Dear Zoo
Zeki goes to the park
Giraffes can't dance
20 dinosaurs at bedtime

Zoom to the moon

These are the ones we come back to time and time again.

Not particularly when one as some books were read over and over for a few years. But I do recall them really liking the ‘That’s not my…’ books with all the different textures.

Where the Wild Things Are
Goodnight Mr Moon
Gruffalo and all those books
Dear Zoo (and other lift the flap books).

Petr Horacek's Look Inside series of board books are gorgeous for that age (and his other books are wonderful for toddlers and pre-schoolers).

Some great suggestions that I've never heard of. Thank you 😊. I'm a sucker for great illustrations.
