Please could you let me know of any pros or cons that you are aware of choosing an NHS funded private assessment for ASD (for an andult) instead of waiting for the NHS assessment?

Thank you

When you say NHS funding a private assessment, are you referring to the Right to Choose scheme? My DD went through that and the only con I can think of is that a lot of the providers who offer their services through it only assess online, but you might be lucky and have a provider who will do it in person local to you.

Hi, my letter doesn’t mention the right to choose scheme. Is that just fir children seeking a diagnosis or do you know if that includes adults too?

It's for adults, psychiatry UK has a good guide on it and how to access it. Their wait time is currently 3 months from when they receive your referral (they do all their assessments online) Right To Choose (ASD) - Psychiatry-UK
