Do you love cooking? I love cooking.

Do you?

I think most people are terrible cooks who use food as punishment rather than joy.

See the MN random veg dishes.

No thanks.

Yeah, don't mind cooking if I'm in the mood.

Yeah, don't mind cooking if I'm in the mood.

That's fair enough.

What do you cook then?

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2025 00:47

You ok op? Second thread in quick succession dissing everyone else’s cooking but your own.

have you had a sniff of the barmaid’s apron perchance?

PollyCreo · 23/03/2025 00:48

I love cooking and love food. I live to eat, others eat to live.

There's a chef who said something like "people fall into two categories, those who care about food and those who don't"

I’m in the “Don’t care about food category”. I’m a decent cook but hate it. I’d sooner be doing something I enjoy instead of slaving away in the kitchen.

My favourite meal is my breakfast, I have porridge with nuts, seeds, fruit, yogurt and peanut butter, I love it and could eat it for dinner quite easily, my husband thinks I’m strange 😝

I hate cooking. Love food, especially if anyone else is making it. Love socialising. HATE the effort, faff, prep, and God, the cleaning up. Always feels like tons of hassle for 15 mins of eating! Might feel differently if/when I'm not working so many hours, but somehow I doubt it.

When I win the lottery I'm definitely employing a chef. I love the look of gorgeous food if I see it in magazines, just want someone else to cook it.

I hate cooking.

murasaki · 01/10/2025 19:29

I don't enjoy it, but I take it seriously enough to ensure I enjoy the results. It's less irritating than making the bed or taking the bins out, with more satisfying results, but is neither relaxing nor fun.

unsync · 01/10/2025 19:48

After doing it daily for the best part of 40 years, I loathe it now.

Dontcallmescarface · 01/10/2025 19:52

Nope. I'm told that I'm a good cook but I just find it monotonous.

secureyourbook · 01/10/2025 19:56

I do enjoy the process of cooking. What I get totally fed up of is deciding what to have for dinner every day.
