Furnished Council House

Has anyone got any experience of a furnished council house tenancy? Where you rent certain items from the council for a number of points and pay a set amount per month? You can give the items back when you purchase your own.

Are the items brand new and good quality or is it more like random mismatched charity shop furniture? You can rent white goods too. Thanks!

In my experience the furniture is new, fashionable but cheapest, low quality; white goods new, bottom of range.

I think in most cases your better off sourcing the items secondhand yourself as then your not paying back monthly and you can choose what items and brands

From my own moving house experience, there’s very little you need to get immediately. You can start with less and add gradually over a few months as you find them
