Absolutely bladdered - can I go to sleep safely?

Dunno who else to ask.

live alone.

I went out with work at 10am for bottomless brunch. I’ve lost track of how much I’ve had but it’s been six hours solid. Wine, vodka and coke, vodka and lemonade, several shots, cocktails (x 4 or 5), whisky at one point and sips of others drinks.

yes I’m a fucking idiot. My colleagues are all big drinkers. Im not used to it and feel stupid now and my head is pounding.

I’ve got home, thrown up several times, I feel a bit better and I’m not losing time or anything. Am I safe to just go to bloody bed or do I need to sit up a few hours?

Hmmm, I would go to sleep. But if you have a feeling it wouldn't be safe would you maybe want to stay up for an hour or two and drink lots of water maybe a slice of toast?

Doseofreality · 22/03/2025 18:47

Ready salted crisps, Lucozade Sport and splash your face with cold water. Watch some tv for a bit and you’ll be fine.

Drink a much water as you can!

boringingoring · 22/03/2025 18:48

You're probably fine, but I'd try to stay up for another hour or so, drink a lot of water and perhaps have a shower before you crash out. If you're with it enough to both worry about it, and seek advice here, I'd say you're ok. And now you know for next time 😉

Sevenamcoffee · 22/03/2025 18:50

If you lie down and feel sick then get up again. Otherwise I think you’ll be ok but Aldo could sit for a bit and have water and a little bland food.

DuckonaBike · 22/03/2025 18:51

Make sure that when you go to bed you lie down in the recovery position (on your front, slightly on one side). Then if you pass out completely, you’re safe.

evenbaddiesgetsaddies · 22/03/2025 18:51

I’ll try yeah, to eat something. It’s stupid, I don’t want to lose face but my God it’s just continual alcohol.

You’ve typed a completely coherent messsge. You’re fine. Drink a pint of water and go to sleep.

This.

I’ve been so drunk before I couldn’t even open my phone yet alone type anything. You’ll be fine.

isolate34 · 22/03/2025 18:55

To post on here absolutely fine and be coherent I think you'll be ok op 😂

TallAndSkinnyWithAnUnusuallyLargePelvis · 22/03/2025 18:56

Well your spelling, punctuation and grammar are spot on - I've had evenings where I couldn't even find the torch on my phone, let alone post a coherent sentence, so I reckon you'll be fine.

popandchoc · 22/03/2025 19:00

Was going to say the same, i make no sense when i type when drunk.

Differentstarts · 22/03/2025 19:03

Go to sleep your fine your writing is better then mine sober

2025willbemytime · 22/03/2025 19:05

I hope you'll be okay but work on not falling for peer pressure.

LouiseTopaz · 22/03/2025 19:07

I usually have a hydration drink, down three prints of water, take some paracetamol and hope I'm not too hungover the next day

Don’t take paracetamol now OP, it’s actually pretty toxic and your body is already detoxing from the alcohol. Have painkillers tomorrow if you need them.

ohyesido · 22/03/2025 19:13

Take some painkillers and drink some water/squash.

evenbaddiesgetsaddies · 22/03/2025 19:15

Thanks, I’m feeling better yeah. Throwing up has helped a lot at least.

MrsHamster123 · 22/03/2025 19:15

You sound totally coherent. Sounds like you've had a good time so don't worry. When I've been bladdered I can't type for shit. 😂
Make some toast, have a cup of tea and a pint of water or squash. Put some crap tv on and go to bed with a pint of water for the morning. You will be fine, maybe a hangover tomorrow but you'll be OK.

Echobelly · 22/03/2025 19:19

Glad you're feeling better. Drink lots of water, nothing bad's going to happen and as people have said, you're no incoherent which suggests you're not at serious alcohol poisoning level or anything like that.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 22/03/2025 19:46

The fact you've thrown up several times means you've probably only got what's in your bloodstream to process. You seem very coherent, even if you feel rough. Eat something carby and salty and have a coke or Ribena. When I was younger and used to do this stuff fairly regularly, I would try to drink three pints of water before bed and have some alka seltzer. If I felt rough next day, I'd sip more alka seltzer, eats a big bag of beef flavour hula hoops and drinks Ribena.

Alwaystired2023 · 22/03/2025 19:50

Dont beat yourself up OP, drinking gives me awful anxiety it's why I don't do it anymore, it's fine it's done hopefully you had a good time you'll feel better in a couple days x
