Reformer pilates for low back pain?

I'd low back trouble a few years ago but it hasn't bothered me for about 10 years now. However, it's come back last week. I may have been neglecting it a bit by lying and sitting on sofa a lot instead of firm chairs.

Besides walking, I don't do any other exercise, but am now thinking of starting reformer pilates.

I'd love to hear people's experiences of reformer pilates for a sore back.

A cheaper option is to plank every day. There’s a lot of evidence that doing daily planks is beneficial for back pain.
