How much for a weeks self catering?

I am thinking of booking a property we had before . It has four bedrooms but there are only two of us. I want to book it as I love the area and the house but it's £1350 for a week in April! Would this put you off? Is it outrageous? I feel guilty.

It is clearly going to depend on your income and outgoings.

£1350 for 7 nights for up to 8 people (£24pp pn) sounds very, very reasonable if 8 people were going

If your 'holiday fund' runs to it, and you love the place, then why not ?

Personally I'd rather spend £700 on a place that is the size we need, and go on twice as many holidays.

There are an awful lot of depressing cottages for two in the LD. Because most people are there to walk, owners seem to think shabby furniture and dated bathrooms are fine. We stayed in a smaller property a few years ago and discovered the bottle bank was below the house. Smashing glass noise all day and evening. Plus absolutely overrun with tourists. This place is off the beaten track in an area I love .

I'm surprised you didn't pick that up in the reviews, before you booked it - you have to agree that would be exceptionally unusual.

As I said - totally up to you. If you are convinced, then why ask on here?

You have asked on here, and my thinking is I'd prefer to pay for a one bed cottage, and be able to have 2 holidays.
But it's totally okay (if you have that much money) for you to rent a house for 8 even if there are only two of you. No skin off anyone else's nose. Smile
