Can't decide on name for new puppy (a girl)

She is a mini poodle, a light brown colour. I was originally thinking something along the lines of Daisy, Masie, Lily, or Winnie. I had provisionally named her Daisy (she's been home since the weekend). But after having her home and getting to know her I feel like Daisy is too 'fun' a name for her. She's been introduced to everyone as Daisy, registered at the vet as Daisy but it just doesn't feel right for her. It's bothering me, even though I know it shouldn't matter. I've always picked my dog's names quickly and they have just worked out, I think I'm definitely overthinking this. It's just that even though she is a playful puppy, she has this 'princess-like' serene and almost judgemental energy about her, I can't explain it but others have agreed with me. She is lovely and adorable, but she definitely seems like an old soul who has been here before!

Does anyone have any suggestions? Reading this back I feel like I sound crazy but I know some of you will know what I mean...

If Daisy isn't regal enough then what about Rose?

chattyness · 20/03/2025 22:45

We can’t name her without a photo…

We need a photo, surely?

'Daisy' is adorable, but if you want regal, what about Millie (short for Camilla.)

Avatartar · 20/03/2025 22:49

fudge

We need a PHOTO! 😂

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark (well, former queen, she abdicated a year ago) is known as Daisy. She’s 84 now.

So I’d say that makes Daisy a perfect name for an old soul, princess-like puppy!

Of course, it would be easier for us to help if we had a photo…

Daisy is lovely but if you want something a little loftier you could swap the syllables and call her Sadie.

If I'd had a girl she was going to be a Sadie

boringingoring · 20/03/2025 23:58

Oh but Margo is adorable and is a version of Margaret and so is Daisy, sort of, so that's even better.

Deathraystare · 21/03/2025 07:51

No puppy or dog tax? We need a photo. True, not half as important as the cat tax but there we go......

Pantaloony123 · 21/03/2025 07:53

How about Poppy? There are the Princess Poppy books 😀
