Help me remember the name of this TV series

Not the most important thing in my life but I’ve got a brain worm. I’ve tried googling but it hasn’t been any help.

So, drama series, 95% sure it was BBC late 1980s or very early 90s.

plot was a company was being taken over in a multi million pound deal and two rival factions needed to find small shareholders and buy up their shares (I think it might have been a small printing company originally which turned over the years into a massive valuable company). This was the days of paper share certificates which had been inherited or forgotten about at the back of a drawer. The shares were worth a fortune (life changing money) and the plot centred on about 10 of the small shareholders and how it changed their lives. From memory one was a builder whose son had a rock band and he invested in a video for them and released a single.

I can’t remember who was in it except the leader of one of the factions trying to buy the shares was in his early 30s ish with blond hair

I don’t particularly want to watch it again but it’s just a brain worm driving me nuts

Capital City?

No not capital city, it was more about ordinary people than set in the city

ChatGPT says:

"It sounds like you're describing "The Frighteners", a British drama series from the late 1980s. It aired on BBC and involved a company being taken over in a high-stakes deal, with rival factions trying to acquire shares from small shareholders. The focus was on several small-time shareholders whose lives were impacted by the value of these shares.
The series you’re thinking of might have been “The Frighteners” (1989), which fits much of the plot you described, involving an underdog narrative with multiple characters, including a builder, and the stakes around small inherited shares becoming hugely valuable. The company itself may have started as a small operation that grew into something massive.
As for the lead with blonde hair, the character you are thinking of could be one of the corporate figures involved in the takeover."

I tried Googling it afterwards but couldn't find anything matching Blush
I've got a personal/professional goal of using ChatGPT more in an attempt to make both lives easier so this was a good little project Smile glad you found what you were looking for!
