Anyway to buy from Vinted safely?

If you want to buy something that is £200 is there a way to buy it safely?

Credit card! Anything you buy over £100 on a credit card, gives you Section 75 protection. Anything issues, you can call your credit card company and they’ll refund it and then deal with it themselves.

Will I get an option to pay by credit card?

I've never had to claim via credit card. Is it an easy process?

Yes

Just call them and ask them to make a section 75 claim. Dead easy

Edited

S75 doesn’t apply if you pay through a third party, like Paypal or Vinted.

A chargeback might still be doable; but they are down to the banks T&Cs and are a lot less protected.

Would it be worth me asking them to list it on eBay or is that just as bad?

frillygillymilly · 19/03/2025 20:46

what's is the item, some stuff is verified now

tothelefttotheleft · 19/03/2025 20:59

@frillygillymilly

It's jewellery.

OP posts:
frillygillymilly · 19/03/2025 21:06

does it offer verification?

frillygillymilly · 19/03/2025 21:07

it will say along bottom of image - item verification available. The seller ships to Vinted who then check it and if ok ship it onto you.

BlueBlueBerries · 19/03/2025 21:09

Do they have good recent reviews? Do they have other items listed that have the same background (scammers pinch others images so sometimes they have different backgrounds). Do their other items also match the ‘vibe’ of the seller - do they have lots of low end stuff then the expensive jewellery also, this could be a scam. A few ways to sense check.

tothelefttotheleft · 19/03/2025 21:48

@frillygillymilly

No the pictures don't have verification on them unfortunately.

OP posts:
frillygillymilly · 19/03/2025 21:48

i'm not sure i would risk it then

tothelefttotheleft · 19/03/2025 21:50

@BlueBlueBerries

They have 28 reviews. 2 say sale not completed and 1 says item not received.

@frillygillymilly

Can you ask sellers to do verification? Does it cost them money?

Gymmum82 · 19/03/2025 21:52

No chance would I buy something of that price on vinted. There is no way of buying it safely.

tothelefttotheleft · 19/03/2025 21:57

@Gymmum82

Yep. Shame as I really like it.

OP posts:
frillygillymilly · 19/03/2025 21:58
