What to use spare 2025 diary for?

I bought two moleskin diaries, one week to view a5 size which I've started using, and another half the size but page to a day so chunkier. Don't ask why I bought two. What can I use the smaller, spare one for?

Recycling, or maybe ebay?

IMissSparkling · 18/03/2025 21:11

Just use it as a regular notebook.
I honestly don't know how some people get through life.

Gummibärchen · 18/03/2025 21:17

It sounds daft, but I kept a diary last year for recording daily 'glimmers' - highlights and moments in each day that I found uplifting or memorable. I now have a year's worth of positive memories to look back on.

Or you could use it as a habit tracker/spending journal

Hatty65 · 18/03/2025 21:28

As a gratitude diary. Write down three things each night at bedtime that you are.grateful for that day, however small.

It makes a massive difference to your outlook

Sunshineandrainbow · 18/03/2025 21:29

Meal planning

@Gummibärchen That's a good idea. I actually received as a gift one of those diaries where you write a line a day for five years and it's just something to look back on so could have used for that if I didn't have this.

@Hatty65 That's a good idea and @Sunshineandrainbow

I thought maybe a food diary if I were that way inclined or use for work to do lists

You could set it up as your jobs template diary. So think of all the things you should do every month / 3 months / 6 months / birthdays then schedule them all in the planner then use it every year to remove the mental load. “It’s the 6th Feb what do I need to do? Oh look, book MOT and sort a present for Grandma”

And as new things take you by surprise or if you have an excellent thought for future eg “it would have helped to check the camping gear in March” then you just add it in so you get the reminder for next year

nomorezoflora · 18/03/2025 23:28

Your second set of accounts that don't get seen by the auditors, where you record your real life

Karatema · 19/03/2025 09:38

None of our clients do this ^^ 🤣🤣

I like this idea!

Meal planning

Yes!
Also family planning in general? And it may be the family's planner?

ScentOfAMoomin · 19/03/2025 09:42

Diary one - real life

Diary two - a comedic invention, perhaps filled with hopes and dreams, or just nonsense such as “went to St Tropez (again), Tarquin says it gets more like Butlins by the day.

erinaceus · 19/03/2025 09:44

Keep it and use it in 2031.

Ah that's interesting!

I had thought about using it next year and taking the days

Its kind of easier to do as it's day to a page

but that would be nuts

2031 maybe!

You do realise the OP is just looking for ideas? She's not on the floor in the foetal position, diaries beside her, mid existential crisis.

You 'honestly don't know how some people get through life'? I honestly don't know how some people are so miserable.

tansysmum · 19/03/2025 19:02

I've used my spare diary as a What I Have Eaten Confessional.
Not that anyone else sees it but I do genuinely think twice about eating things if I know I have to write them down. I can't hide from myself.
