Just that.

yes but you don’t have much choice

MarjorieDanvers · 17/03/2025 18:03

Well I don’t - it’s an improvement imo!

ImperfectAlf · 17/03/2025 18:04

If they alter what it looks like, probably not. Otherwise yes. I’m back on the website mostly

Yes I'm delaying my update for as long as possible.

Im usually an early adopter but I just don't know if I want to update right now. I want these things to be an upgrade.

Hopefully I'll be agreeing with @MarjorieDanvers when I have to.

Yessss, I can’t get my head around it and I’ve had 269684 emails since

FanDann · 17/03/2025 18:47

I don’t really like it

JaneJeffer · 17/03/2025 18:53

Yes mine forced an update yesterday and now I’ve deleted it completely. It’s terrible.

1457bloom · 17/03/2025 18:54

It’s not as good as before.

HenDoNot · 17/03/2025 18:55

Yes you’ll regret it.

PrincessFluffyPants · 17/03/2025 18:59

Agree with the above, the update feels really “cheap” and clunky to use now. I definitely haven’t being using Mumsnet as much since I was forced to update (Apple).

Magnolia82 · 17/03/2025 19:02

Yes, you’ll regret it! Wait as long as you can.

tobee · 17/03/2025 19:08

Thanks for the replies.

Allowing for the fact that (maybe?) people are more likely to post if they have negative opinions, it sounds like I should definitely hold off.

I daresay there are some likers out there somewhere?

KnickerlessParsons · 17/03/2025 19:12

No. Its fine once you get used to it.

amylou8 · 17/03/2025 19:17

Mine updated itself a few days ago. I prefer it.

ijustdontknow01 · 17/03/2025 19:19

I prefer it

MamaAndTheSofa · 17/03/2025 19:27

I think it’s far better! You can vote on AIBU and you can “Thank” people, which is handy when you like what someone said but you don’t want to add a pointless post saying so.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 17/03/2025 19:28

Mine also auto updated, no choice in it. I don't mind the new version but it does have a lot of ads. But I usually use my lap top and have Premium so not really a problem (I'm sure I could log in with the same username etc on my phone to get Premium but I CBA, I only tend to look on my phone when waiting in a car park for DD).

schoolmum11 · 17/03/2025 19:29

I don’t like the new version and it’s putting me off using it sadly.

BeckyWithTheGoodHair010101 · 17/03/2025 19:30

I’ve got it - my phone auto updates. I don’t mind it! It’s a bit different but you can vote. Also easier to see quote responses (they’re nested!) so not a negative.

SilvieBear · 17/03/2025 19:31

I moved over to the app to avoid the annoying ad / disable ad blocker thing. And I much prefer the new one. It’s way clearer / cleaner than before. I like the new features too, eg thanks

ColourByNumbers88 · 17/03/2025 19:31

It’s annoying how there are 2 clicks to reverse the threads ie the arrows no longer work…

JamieFrasersSassenach · 17/03/2025 19:34

Personally I don’t like it and wish I could have stayed using the old version. It’s clunky in my opinion and I don’t like the way there are more steps to ‘flip’ a thread.
I'm not using the site as much as a result.
It’s a shame we can’t go back to the old one.
Hopefully I’ll get used to it eventually. Or I’ll just give up and stop using Mumsnet 🤷‍♀️

And when you do, instead of getting the newest post at the top, you have to scroll past the opening post to find it. Maybe not a biggie on a large screen but flipping annoying on a phone!

ColourByNumbers88 · 17/03/2025 19:39

Agree! Why the double click though, that’s not an improvement on the previous version.
