Selling house, constant viewing no shows, did anyone get this?

The last 3 appointments our EA has made for viewings has resulted in no shows, it is so frustrating when we have to stay in, clean up and sit there waiting and waiting just for no one to come! Is this usual or is our EA messing up somewhere?

Who is cancelling? The EA or the viewers? Because the EA can't control the viewers.

That seems like a lot. I'd imagine buyers are flakier these days, but also they are precious creatures.

What has the EA said? They're supposed to filter out people who aren't really interested or haven't got mortgage offers etc.

How good is kerb appeal, could they be having a quick look from a car and then move on?

Lovelysummerdays · 17/03/2025 07:57

I’d wonder about the kerb appeal of your property. Is there something putting people off as they drive in? It doesn’t have to be your property specifically. Local vandalism/ litter/ messy neighbours, noisy /smelly takeaway or pub. I think sometimes people rock up and think they can’t see themselves there and decide not to view.

You might find the number of no shows reduces if the EA does the viewings

Bluevelvetsofa · 17/03/2025 10:00

I agree with @PlatinumMoon

I also think people do drive by and decide whether they want to look further, but I’d expect that before a booked viewing.

Ask the agent to do the viewings and let you know when they’re finished.
