Impact of having schizophrenia mother

What sort of impact would having a very unwell schizophrenic mother, suffering from violet delusions, have on a young boy? Symptoms starting when the child was 10.

It's a treatable condition so if the mother has access to treatment then the effects on her family are similar to families where a parent has another serious illness eg cancer.

I have schizoaffective disorder & am a mother.
