How’s Your Saturday Evening Shaping Up?

I’m really tired as my shift was insane! Just didn’t stop serving customers. Very glad to leave. I bought some bits from Iceland including a frozen stir fry meal of creamy chicken, cheese & broccoli pasta. Had it many times before & it’s really good. Collected a Vinted parcel at an Inpost locker for DD16 on the way home. Someone popped round to buy a dress that I’d advertised on Facebook Marketplace. Only got £7 but it wasn’t expensive & would have just ended up at the charity shop. Just had a glass of Aldi Zerozecco & may well open a 2nd bottle. DH is setting up his new I Pad, delivered today. DD is in her room. I’ve asked if she’d like to watch a film with us later but no reply as yet (we tend to text each other even in the house).

Lovely so far. We’ve had my mum and sister visit today to meet our DD, who is 5 days old, and they brought the compulsory meal with them so that was tea sorted, and now I’m snuggled on the sofa with said DD, reading stories to my 3yo DS.

Alright. My friend was the supervisor on the self service checkout tonight and is very good at her job. She can sit behind her desk and do the automatic single item fruit and veg pricing over-ride function without having to get up and mess with the key and poke the screen.

However, the degree of our familiarity over the twenty odd years that we've known each other can lead her to be a bit abrupt. She's also from Marseille.

"KA-TY! PUT DOWN YOUR MANGOS!"

"Jesus Christ, Sandra, this is not a mafia shootout."

@RabbitsRock if I recall correctly, you work at The Range? The only time I've seen our local one busy busy was the weekend everyone & their nan decided to buy their Christmas tree! Is the Zerozecco nice?

@PiastriThePastry aw, that all sounds lovely and chill. Congratulations on your new dd 😊

We've just left King's X after the Westminster applicants day & a wander round with nothing specific in mind. We debated Camden market, but decided we couldn't be arsed with the busyness. We've got a can of cocktail each as a treat for the way back 🍸& are semi planning to take dd2 to London over the Easter hols. A clear plan will make it more appealing to her I think.

Dh has gone out on his friends stag do.
DS is sleeping at his friends.
DD is actually home for once, she even offered to walk the dogs with me earlier on. Waiting to see what she wants.
Think we’re going to order a Chinese takeaway and watch a series on Disney +.
Actually looking forward to have time with just dd.

Quiet here, I have nice food in but would like to go down the shop for some gelato for afterwards.

Satisfying day's shopping. Spent far too long on the phone to the water company. They say I don't owe them anything but I'm pretty sure I do! Might go round to a friend's soon for the rest of the rugby if it's still on.

@CalicoPusscat one more game to go..... start's at 8pm . 🥰

It is my first day off work for almost a fortnight. I ticked everything off the to-do list apart from cleaning the house, but that tedious task can wait until tomorrow! The washing machine is going to hate me because it's going to have its work cut out in keeping on top of the laundry.

Instead, I had a massage late this afternoon and am now listening to classical covers of pop songs while my dogs are curled up, sleeping. It's lovely!

Mine is a little stressful. We have a problematic neighbour and today he saw fit to shove a letter through our door accusing us of all sorts of strange things. He has MH problems but it has got to the point where I only go outside with my camera video running in case he comes and abuses me in some way. I find it incredibly stressful.DH just shrugs and says 'Ignore it' but I dwell and worry.

Other than that I made slow cooker gammon and cauliflower cheese and we are watching a dvd of Bugsy Malone because DS2 is in the school play of it.

Yay! I'll scoot around to my friend's then :)

@lucysmam the ZeroZecco is brilliant - I think it’s one of the best AF sparkling wine substitutes I’ve tried. Only £2.99 as well! Not so keen on the rose’ version but definitely recommend the white 🍾🥂🍾🥂

In many ways, this has been a wasted day out of my life. I'm hungover. Can't remember the last time this happened. I got home at 11pm last night, drank a lot of water, had a bite to eat and some paracetamol and a bath. Was asleep by around midnight. Around 8am I crawled down stairs for a pot of tea. Around 10am I crawled back down to make a 3 egg omelette with cheese, spinach and mushroom and buttered toast. About 1ish I made noodles with lots of soy and chilli sauces with peas and spinach. Another pot of tea at 2 with some company for a little bit. I've been back in bed since 4.30 but did make a huge bowl of veggie spaghetti. I'm trying to stay up until at least 9pm! Thing is, last night was one of the most fun nights I've had in years, actual belly laughter, amazing company, and such good chat, so I wouldn't change a thing.
