**pic attached** what is this lump behind my ear??

So I’m not expecting a diagnosis, but has anyone experienced a lump here?

its sore to touch. It feels hard. When I feel the other ear, there seems to be a little bone in the same place which I can feel under the skin. So it’s like this lump is on top of that bone (if that makes sense).

im a bit of a worrier, so any lump has me a little stressed!

I will book in with the GP for next week, but wondered if anyone here might have any ideas?

sorry, probably not the best picture. The lump is where my ear meets my head.

It's probably a small cyst. Gets oily in that crevice where your ear joins your head.

I have no idea but I had one just like it for a few years which then just disappeared. It seemed to just be a random. Fluid filled lump. Apparently that's a popular place for them.

Cyst, blind pimple or boil.

DrummingMousWife · 15/03/2025 17:48

Cyst. Very common there.

Princesspollyyy · 15/03/2025 17:57

That looks like a cyst.

HereintheloveofChristIstand · 15/03/2025 17:58

Another vote for cyst. I remember my grandad having one on his earlobe. When it burst it looked like he had a piercing.

Therehastobemoretolife · 15/03/2025 21:36

I do! I’ll try get a pic tomoz

TiredArtTeacher · 15/03/2025 21:37

I’ve had those before, they go away on their own.

HateThese4Leggedbeasts · 15/03/2025 21:39

I get these semi regularly in the same place. They come and go. I think it's when I'm run down.

ShyNavyBiscuit · 15/03/2025 22:53

Oh, that’s a relief to hear. If it’s a cyst, will it go on its own? Or does it need treatment?

I get these every time I wear earrings that are not gold. Probably a lymph node. Could one of your earrings be causing it?

Devianinc · 16/03/2025 00:04

Just get it checked out. It doesn’t look like anything serious but it’ll make you feel better.

PresidentBarklett · 16/03/2025 00:42

I get those sometimes. Massively painful and hard as bullets. I think they are spots. But because they are near bone (cartilage?) they have nowhere to go but out, so they feel really big. No idea if I'm right but they always go after a week or so.

Princesspollyyy · 16/03/2025 21:03

It will go away on its own. Unless it’s causing you problems they won’t remove it on the nhs anyway.

Mumof3talk25 · 22/03/2025 12:10

Hi, Anyone know what this fleshy lump on earlobe is, I want a second piercing but it's been there for years?
