Heavy spotting two weeks after period finished

I’m pretty regular. I have my period every 5 weeks and it tends to last about 3 days. The last one however, was unusually heavy. Lasted 4 days instead of 3, and like I said, the flow was heavier than normal.

Today, I’ve got to the toilet and discovered some blood when I wiped. I put a pad in, and it’s like I’ve got a very light flow going on. When I wipe, it’s soft like spotting but the pad has noticeable stains.

I have never bled in between periods before so this has sort of thrown me off a bit.

probably unrelated but I have a killer ear ache in my right ear. A possible ear infection in which I have antibiotic spray being sent out to me via pharmacy2u

Any unusual bleeding should be investigated, make a doc appointment. Could be a cyst, polyp, endo, more serious or nothing!

Go to your Doctors.
Better to get this checked out.
Maybe nothing but could be Fibroids, cyst, hormones or something else.
Any unusual bleeding needs investigating.

sighs. Guess I’m on the phone again Monday…I’ve had to call them twice already this month

As above I would see your GP for sure. Hope it goes okay x

Soubriquet · 16/03/2025 10:35

So it’s not longer spotting and flowing like a normal period. Still need a GP, or do I accept that I’m having a double period this month?

What do you think?

What do you think?

How many days is it since your last period? Honestly if this is unusual for you I would still go to GP

Always get unusual bleeding checked out.

DustyLee123 · 17/03/2025 07:19

How old are you? It’s not uncommon in peri.

My last period was the 5th of March and lasted 4 days

I’m 36

I kind of wish irregular bleeding wasn’t always attributed to peri - there are so many other causes that need to be ruled out first.

Soubriquet · 17/03/2025 09:20

I’m number 68 in the call queue. Thank god for call backs. Couldn’t stand to be on hold this entire time

So asking about peri is trying to rule that out too, as we now have done. Many reasons could cause it, and the best place to find out is the GP.

It’s not been ruled out though as you can easily be in peri at 36?

Gotta have a blood test done and keep track of any bleeding (which I do anyway) to see if it happens again
