Where would you recommend? I just want a nice glass of wine somewhere fairly down to earth and quiet enough to have a proper conversation…?

The Ganymede on Ebury Street

There are but that involves a train journey from Victoria so I’m not sure why you would!
The Duke of Wellington, Eaton Terrace would be my shout, near to Ebury street. If you walk in the direction Sloane Square there are a lot of quiet neighbourhood pubs about.

I would go to Vagabond in Victoria, it's got different wines in machines you can try by the glass and its nice and chilled
