Lump in my leg, what could it be?

Well to be honest it is inside my right thigh, right at the top, almost near my knicker line and quite hard and painful but not too painful. I can't actually see it! I'm thinking something like an ingrown hair or follicle or something.

What would you do? How can you treat it? It doesn't feel like it's got a head.

I’d wait and see what happens.
Hot flannel? mag sulphate? Although I’d just leave it alone if it wasn’t sore, it would either go on it’s own accord or eventually come to a head.

If I've correctly understood your description of the location, it could just be a swollen lymph node. It will probably settle again in a few days if so.

Thanks. It is no longer tender and has shrunk a bit. It's not in my groin, but on the inside of my leg.
