Dilated bile duct / gallstones

I have been having issues with gallstones for nearly a year. I’ve been feeling worse so sent for a scan and bile duct dilated with no obvious cause plus gallstones but no signs of infection or inflammation. Alt raised but other LFT is fine the one of concern is Amylase apparently. Definite worsening since previous scan in August. Gp is sending a letter to surgical to see if they can expedite but I didn’t get a hopeful vibe.

Has anyone experienced similar I feel like I’m slowly deteriorating is it a wait it out and eventually you’ll get sick enough for NHS to regard as emergency and bump you up list? Genuinely in a fair amount of pain most days and struggling with work. Taking regular Naproxen/ Buscopan the odd cocodamol if too painful to sleep.

Im quite stoic so I’ve had a you’ve not broken that bone / in established labour as not in enough pain apparently. Then they look at x-ray or realise Baby is coming now.

Gallstones can be incredibly painful.

As soon I had a scan diagnosing them I was referred to have them removed. From referral to surgery was about 4 months, so not sure why they aren't doing the same for you? I would push for the op as much as you can.

I was in this situation last year. I was told the NHS waiting list was a year.

I went private and had it sorted within a few weeks. It was £8000.

I really don’t have £8000, waitlist is about 18 months where I am unfortunately
