Useful Mother’s Day gifts for Grandma?

For my grandma, my children’s great grandma who is in her early eighties,

she said a while ago she doesn’t want anymore tat ie ornaments etc as trying to de clutter her home. She doesn’t expect anything, but I like to get her something as she is a maternal figure in my life, who along with my mother has had a huge impact on me.

I try and get her something of use for example hot water bottles, mugs, dressing gown, blanket etc but I feel like I’ve done all this and can’t think of anything new and non tat.

she doesn’t/can’t get out much. I often have bought her chocolates, biscuits etc but she’s had recent stomach surgery so not the best idea right now.

she is really fussy with clothes so can’t go there 😂

any ideas?

Book subscription? Or monthly flower subscription?

Does she like watching the birds? We got my nanna a window bird feeder - it attaches to your window with suckers, so you can see them really closely. A very unexpected hit!

Thanks, she doesn’t read books ever but flowers might be a shout!

Aww that’s lovely. My grandad was bought one of these a few months before he died suddenly. He never got chance to use it in the spring as he planned. I’m not sure if she’s still got it but great idea otherwise!

A heated throw?

A great idea but she’s stuck in the mindset that heated blankets are dangerous. I try and reassure that these days they are perfectly safe! 🤷‍♀️

not making it easy am I 😂

Magazine subscription?
Sometimes getting a magazine through the letterbox every month is a really nice thing.

A subscription service? Netflix, national theatre at home, audible?

Apron or tea towel with a picture of you all on it?
Take her out somewhere special for the day.
