Second jobs whilst on maternity leave

Please could someone help with the rules with regards to working a different second job whilst on maternity leave?

I am still on maternity leave but now no longer receiving SMP. I'm not due back to work until beginning of June but will be 'returning' in May but as being on annual leave so not physically returning until June.

I know I'm entitled to do up to 10 KIT days but I just can't face going back any earlier than necessary 😅 but we're a bit tight on money at the minute.

Ive seen casual weekend work advertised which would suit me as partner will be available for childcare but want to make sure I'm actually allowed to do it.

Everything I read is that it would stop your SMP. But you're not getting SMP anymore so it may not be a problem. Call maternity action.

I did amazon deliveries while on maternity leave. Worked them around my partners shifts.

Yes that's what I'm thinking, I'm no longer getting SMP. Will find the number and give maternity action a call thank you

not sure about legalities but you should probably check your contract in case there is a clause in there about having to inform them of a second job as I know some contracts have this

If she was already employed by Amazon while she was pregnant then its not fraudulent for her to work for them on maternity leave.

Are you sure? I know people who do Amazon on a self employed basis, not on maternity leave but I think you can do it legally and maybe the pp isn't still getting SMP

Self employed work is also allowed on maternity leave if that's how amazon works

It is how it works, and I checked with HR. I was doing the shifts before maternity leave, too, so it was all OK.
