Parkdean must be paying MN a small fortune for all these pinned threads

Four at the moment, I think. I have no idea who they are or what they do. Similar to Butlin's?

It's like Haven. Caravan parks with activities and entertainment. I keep seeing them too.

frankie001 · 09/03/2025 18:45

I’m at a Park Dean right now! 😂

🤣 I've been to Trecco Bay. Which one are you at?

CurlsLDN · 09/03/2025 18:48

Yes they probably are, it’s a big chain and MN is their target market (families, holiday decision makers) so like all the brands who advertise on here I’m sure they’re paying handsomely for it. But what’s your point?

Ineedtobethinnertobehealthy · 09/03/2025 18:50

I used to love Parkdean, but we had a holiday booked at Ruda in April 2020 which we had to postpone due to Covid. It was £369 for 4 nights. The following year they wanted £699 for the same break which was almost double so I got my money back rather than pay the extra.

I didn’t stay with them again after that due to their inflated prices which was a shame as we had holidayed with them since 2012 at various sites.

St Minver was our favourite when my DD was little,

CurlsLDN · 09/03/2025 18:50

In fact Google has just told me that with 66 sites they are the largest holiday park operator in the uk!

I guess the marketing is worth it as they’ve drawn your attention op, having not heard of them.

skidamarinkadinka · 09/03/2025 18:51

I've been to Trecco bay too! And the one in Lowestoft, and white cross bay 😆

skidamarinkadinka · 09/03/2025 18:51

They're not as expensive as haven either

Naze Marine in Essex

AcquadiP · 09/03/2025 19:41

They're caravan parks, some rented, some owned. I stay at one in East Yorkshire every year. They're dog friendly and have on site family entertainment, similar to Haven.

AnxiouslyAwaitingSpring · 09/03/2025 19:46

Parkdean are awwwwwful parks! Dystopian, even with bugger all to do, old dilapidated caravans, about 3 arcade machines and a swing set. The ones we've visited have never had direct beach access either, like many Haven's have. Such a disappointment

VanWeezer · 09/03/2025 19:48

I'm another person that's been to Trecco Bay!

Cheapish holiday, kids loved it. Beta family for me too. It's just a static caravan park with a few bits of entertainment. The one I went to is near a beach too.

Wakemeupbe4yougogo · 09/03/2025 19:50

We stayed at the one in Pendine, Wales. Lasted 2 days out of 7, it was that bad a caravan and site. In fact, I'd use the word dump quite happily. We ended up driving round the coast to Tenby and booked a Haven one at Lydstep beach which was beautiful.

Are the ads more distracting than the delete your ad blocker pop ups?

Not sure I have a point. It just seems odd to me that there are four pinned threads all about the same company. Yes, it's attracted my attention. No, we won't be booking a holiday there. We are long past the time for cheap and cheerful child-friendly holidays!

Love a Parkdean weekend away, although the prices are creeping up. Find their selection of vans much better than Haven and some beautiful views if you pick the right park. I've a soft spot for crimdon (criminal) dene for a beautiful sunrise and Ty Mawr for a great sunset (and that's a cracking site as well)

ZenNudist · 09/03/2025 21:12

I ignore all the advertising on MN but they have to make money to keep the site free to us somehow. I just prefer slightly more real threads, like this one, even if being prompted to come to a caravan park by some marketeer posing as a MNer.

Caravan parks generally and those in the UK in particular are my idea of hell but some people must enjoy it.

MyKingdomforaNewUsername · 10/03/2025 00:03

I got adblocker because ads were making the site unusable on my phone.

Hence my question.
