Fun times with teens and toddlers.

Hi.
I've got two sisters and between us our children range from 1 - 14 years old. We live in 3 counties on different edges of London.
I wondered if anyone had some ideas of fun stuff to do with kids of such different ages? Everything seems to be too old for the little ones or too young for the big ones and we end up separate in lots of places as different areas cater for different age groups.
Helpful suggestions gratefully received!
Thanks 😊

A zoo and put each teen in charge of a little one. The older ones get to coo over their younger cousins and the adults can catch up.
I would suggest a beach but I don’t think there is one near you. I think mostly you will have to go with things that amuse the younger ones and persuade the older ones to be a bit maternal. Things that are actually interesting for teens aren’t going to be appropriate for toddlers.

Zoo is a good idea
Beach trips when the weather is nicer
Picnics in park
Swimming

I don’t think the older teens should be doing the parenting on a day out. It’s hardly enjoyable for them then is it ?

@Msmoonpie agree, if you want a day out which works for all then it's not fair to make the older kids responsible for the little ones

SpringLambie · 09/03/2025 19:06

I obviously don’t mean they are responsible just that they point out animals to them and be like older siblings that actually like the younger one. Teens are old enough for a day out not to be all about them. I expect mine to be mature enough to realise this. We do days aimed at them when it’s just us.
