Why does the kid from the Amazon advert think he’ll be able to skateboard on sad?

Title meant to read ‘sand’, don’t think I can edit

And then looks all sad when it obviously doesn’t work.

That is all.

I had the exact same thought.
So glad Amazon was able to really turn the boys life around though. Thank fuck for amazon.

Comedycook · 08/03/2025 21:09

I feel really sorry for him

Sandsnake · 08/03/2025 21:09

Title meant to read ‘sand’ not ‘sad’. Now I’m as thick as skateboard kid 🤦‍♀️

😂😂😂😂

Just seen this ad and thought the exact same thing. Maybe he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer, poor wee mite.

iamsoshocked · 08/03/2025 21:10

The other advert that annoys me is the yoghurt advert with the teacher who wants to lick the lid. Do people really think that is what school lunchtimes are like?

PermanentTemporary · 08/03/2025 21:11

Just watched that advert in a coastal surfing town where loads of shops are going bust because all us rich people prefer paying delivery fees for amazon.

Littletreefrog · 08/03/2025 21:14

Also I doubt a boy used to the city and skateboarding is instantly going to enjoy surfing especially where he was as it looked a bit cold 🥶

FarmerDramaLlama · 08/03/2025 21:14

Most seaside towns near me have good large pathways, ideal for skateboarding.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 08/03/2025 21:46

That advert gets on my nerves, always on during married at first sight 🙄

WelshPool · 08/03/2025 23:14

DH and I said the same thing Not the sharpest tool in the shed is he? 😂

BaronessBomburst · 08/03/2025 23:20

I judge the mother for taking her teen away from the city and his mates to go and live in the wilderness with no friends.
Not good for his mental health or development!

Totally....can you imagine the aibu?

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 08/03/2025 23:25

It’s because he’s a city boy never having seen the seaside I assumed? It is stupid though.

MarieKlepto · 08/03/2025 23:26

It is daft. Even if the boy had always lived there and only seen skateboarding on the internet, surely he'd realise that you can't skate on sand. What I find baffling is the Cadbury's Dairy Milk adverts of utter misery. The latest one is the most cynical if they think their crappy chocolate will make things better.

His mum could afford an expensive house right on thr beach I'm sure they would have been on holiday.

iamsoshocked · 09/03/2025 13:58

Also, who would buy a house that is in danger of coastal erosion?

This. By the time that boy is in his mid twenties that house is going to be at the bottom of the sea.

Aye but he'll be good at surfing

cakeorwine · 09/03/2025 17:47

So glad someone started this thread. I had exactly the same thought.
And didn't he look out, see the surfing in the sea, meet some other local teenagers and ask for a surfboard from the local surf shop.

To be fair that wouldn't be a great advert for Amazon

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 09/03/2025 18:31

I haven’t seen it but it sounds stupid! An Amazon driver nearly ran me over today mounting the curb to try to park while I was waiting to cross the road 😡.
