Tell me about your best weekends away

I have until Tuesday free and would like to get away somewhere, either coast in the UK or abroad.

Has anyone done this recently? Where did you stay? Bonus points if you can recommend a spa!

Share with me your ideas for a fun weekend. I'm thinking Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, maybe train somewhere. Or a bigger idea... Spain? France? Just for the weekend.

Help me get out of a rut!

This weekend?! Anywhere half decent is going to be fully booked already or very expensive.

Good question. Average, really, if in uk maybe £500 max, abroad a bit more. It's only a few days. Happy to get a cheap flight. The important thing is a bit of sun, maybe museums or art.

I'm sure there are still things available! Doesn't have to be 5* or touristy.

I'm glad king people to share their experiences of times they went somewhere nice (pref recently) so I can do similar.

There'll be loads available.
I've had nice weekends in Snowdonia, and in South Wales too.
Bath, York, Lulworth and Exmoor.

St Ives is fantastic,museums,little streets and awesome restaurants

Liverpool and York are amazing as is Edinburgh but trains will be really expensive this close to travel

Barcelona,Munich or old town Malaga for short haul

Rye
