Has anyone bought a secondhand bike from Halfords through the cycle2work scheme?

I'm thinking of getting a new bike through this scheme.
I didn't realise that you could also get a secondhand bike in this way.
However you don't get to see the bike until you order it so not sure what the quality will be like.
Has anyone done this and have any feedback?

Why would you risk a used bike when you can get a new bike at an affordable rate?

I'd be looking to get a brand new bike rather than risking a second hand bike that might not be what you're really looking for. You might find that you have a local cycle charity that refurbishes bikes and you can go to browse and try out etc.

Thanks @Justkeepingplatesspinning @LondonPapa

You're probably right. It's a good deal even for a new bike.

Halfords might sell bike shaped objects, but very few are actually decent bikes.

try a better chain or independent shop.

I got my bike for less than half RRP via cycle to work. It was delivered fully assembled except for pedals (the bike didn't actually come with them but they put some in the box) and very easy to set up.
I also had slightly more net pay for a year which I'd not been expecting. Wins all round.
