The Handbags and the Gladrags....

Around 5 years ago a few doors up from where I worked was a wonderful charity shop (Cat charity). I used to pop in most lunch times just for a browse. Bought 3 pairs of Birkenstocks for next to nothing. Then one day I went in they were selling 'designer' handbags. The lady at the counter told me she had been collecting them for years, but decided to sell them for the poor pussys.

Now the question - I purchased one or more for £5 each every time I went in. They are Zandra Rhodes (my favourite), Radley, Marc Jacobs and others.

How do I tell if they are genuine? At a fiver each I am not overly worried, but it would be nice to know.

I very much doubt they are genuine.

I have a couple of friends who volunteer in charity shops. They sometimes get designer handbags/clothes donated - rather more upmarket than Radley or Marc Jacobs. They are usually priced at £100 plus and staff get first dibs.

Were the bags used when you bought them? I wouldn't pay much more than a fiver for a used Radley and I wouldn't pay 5p for Marc Jacobs, used or otherwise.
