Would anyone like to invent one with me? Or does such thing exist? Now they got rid of tables it's quite hard to work on the train.

Difficult to see how anything like that could work without disturbing/annoying the person sat in front as presumably needs some kind of strap over the headrest of the seat in front?

Which train line have removed tables? Ours are still there.

All the trains that run from our local station (several different train lines/companies) still have carriages with tables and also fold down "flap" things for the people sitting in Airline seats. Ive seen people using those successfully (just about!) as a surface to put their laptops on. Some of our trains have tables where part of it folds up to allow more easy access to the window seat.

What train company do you travel with OP? Whereabouts are you?

Are they getting rid of tables now??
Last train I went on had them still

NoodleNuts · 05/03/2025 20:20

How would that work with different style seats?

I'm in the Midlands and my local station has trains coming through from Avanti West Midlands, Northern Rail, Cross Country Trains and East Midlands Railways (amongst others). All of them have different style/shape/size seats and most still have tables!

Oh wow Thameslink (South East). They're rubbish trains.

Not sure what it would look like. Its not as widespread as I thought.

Could you use a folding laptop tray you took with you? IKEA sell them. I'm sure others do too.
